Real Estate Arroyo Grande, California The Arroyo Grande Village township was established in 1862 and later incorporated on July 10, 1911. Last year, the City of Arroyo Grande celebrated their Centennial. Arroyo Grande Real Estate is surrounded by history with five museums, a historic reference library, as well as artifacts dating back to the days of the early settlers. In fact, in the middle of town is the very popular swinging bridge, which was originally built back in 1875 and is still being used today. Within city limits and beyond lies extensively fertile soil, in which farmers have cultivated and produced bumper crops for over a century. With gratitude for the rich agriculture, the area’s leading industry, Arroyo Grande has held a Harvest Festival the last weekend of September every year since 1937. The Harvest Festival has been a long time tradition enjoyed by the whole community. The festival begins with a parade down Grand Avenue and then continues in the village with booths of agricultural exhibits, food, games, arts & crafts and musical entertainment. Yet another festival is the Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival, which is held annually during Memorial Day weekend. The Strawberry Festival is one of California’s largest festivals, with over 40,000 people attending. At this family-style event, there are booths of arts, crafts, displays, not to mention scrumptious strawberry treats of all kinds. There is a Strawberry Prince and Princess Contest, Strawberry Blonde Contest, Strawberry Cook-Off Contest, and even a kiddie carnival. In conjunction with the Strawberry Festival is the Strawberry Stampede, which is a 5k, 10K run. One of the largest car shows on the Central Coast is hosted in the Village of Arroyo Grande on the last Saturday in July.
